Japan day 10, 1st full day in Kyoto

Well good morning Kyoto! You are looking a lot drier than yesterday 😊
My hotel is nice, I'm still missing my Nara hotel,  this one has a bit more of a modern feel (but is trying desperately to be art deco bless it 😆) they each have their pluses and minuses. This hotel has a nice breakfast but it's not the sane as the amazing ones I got in Nara, but it's nice and it's filling!
This is in the reception area 😊 I do love a quirky hotel 🤣
So there is a REALLY BIG adventure planned for today, it requires a 50 min walk so lets get going!
This is my REALLY BIG adventure 😊😊😊😊 an in person sashiko class with Kazue Yoshikawa 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉 I had seen that she had classes on while I was in Kyoto but I didn't want to book too far in advance in case my plans change
Kazues atelier is wonderful just so warm Cosy and welcoming. She had many designs for us to choose from I chose this hydrangea pattern on a light blue fabric
There were 4 others in the class, a lovely lady from Singapore chose the same pattern as me so we shared the instructions (the white cloth below is the instructions 😊😊)
Here are my coaster and hers
Here are all the coasters from the class
Close up of mine 😊
Naturally I had to buy some more supplies! A lot cheaper here than back home
Kazues picture of all of us, seriously this was the best, nit just learning from an expert like Kazue but sitting stitching with others, just the best.
The class was a morning one so I had tome to fill in the afternoon, I spotted the National Museum of Kyoto on my way up so popped in past on the way down, no photos allowed so I made do with postcards

Loved this wee fella!

They had origami ❤️❤️❤️❤️
This was a favourite too!
Awwww look at these!!!!
This fountain was mesmerising

Back to hotel to decompress, I've become waaaaay too fond of these wee tins 🤣🤣 very tasty and pretty low alcohol but they help wind down after a fabulous day 😊

Na might Kyoto!
