So! Whats been happening in August? Im chuffed I've been keeping up with my Pages read tracker, i was worried that I might read roughly the same every day so it might look boring but there's enough difference i think.
August is of course FOQ month and yes im sad to have missed it again but i do have wonderful chums who make sure i dont feel left out
The phenology wheel is filling up, this is such a nice quick thing to do every month, im loving how it turns out
I had to include my favourite mug 🤣
Oh now .... this is a little bit exciting 🎉 I've slowly been working away at finishing my tiny 9 patch quilt, the top was done before long covid so I've added borders sent it to Cath for long arming and now managed to put binding on 🎉 we just need my energy levels, Mark's availability and the weather to cooperate and ill get a picture over the balcony 🎉
Im on a mission to finish off a load of embroideries i have, they either go in hoops or get made into mini quilts, this is the binding fir a Christmas cross stitch I did last year
This is my "Fresh out of" corner 🤣🤣 i found these nifty little round hoop stands on etsy great for displaying cross stitch hoops
A new start for autumn 🍂 this kit has been waiting a while and now feels absolutely the right time to start it, its a joy to work with the feltvis beautiful as are the threads
Im mostly finished the hexagons fir my hollygon wreath just need to decide what beads etc to add and then sew together

Last but not least I've been to a fabric shop again! A chum was coming down from Aberdeenshire on a bus trip so Mark took me across, it was so lovely i got hugs from Shirley and Carol chatted to all the ladies it was glorious, of course fabric had to be bought 🤣🤣 im loving this Kaffe recolouring of William Morris collection

June started off as always with this month's phenology segment. This was blueberries

I had to wind a second bobbin! 2 bobbins in a year! That's progress 😊
This is my prep for the historical sampler Halloween stitch along starts 6th july
The book below captures a few finishes! I started recording the local temperatures in embroidery in 2021 and stopped in 2024. I had a few bits to finish up, the putting together of the 2023 embroideries blogged about here and the finishing up of the 2024 embroidery blogged about here
I did a reel for Instagram which sums up the whole book, i had also taken the pages of 2021 and 2022 out and remade them (not the whole embroideries thankfully!) Blogged about here
That's an end of an era as regards the temperature embroideries! I did enjoy doing them. Here's the reel
Buying counts as furtling right? 🤣 Japan crafts was selling this sashiko kit in aid of pride, one of my favourite sashiko patterns so I snapped it up
I have managed to cut out the siblings blocks from this month but not sewn together

I also got a new binding tool, I think it will help, Mark does most of my big ironing for me so I didn't really want to add binding to it. I managed this amount in 20 mins with not too much effort so I think ill stick with it
