April look back

I got my eyes done!!! Amazing what a difference just transformational.
Consultant was lovely said my left eye was really bad, after 10 mins looking them over he said he could do it for me there and then! It took 10 mins for my pupils to dilate then it took about 5- 10 mins per eye, most of that was prepping the procedure took just minutes! I was out in under an hour
What an incredible difference it is massive, ive had to turn down the brightness on all devices i had them turned up way high
Reading is back to normal and ill try embroidery later today, worth every penny!
Awww my chum in Aberdeen has just moved flat near to where I lived as a student in Prospect Terrace, it was a fab wee house, no longer there it was an old pre fab she sent me this picture
This is my sock! 🤣 a game the selkies were playing and they wanted me to join in so Kim collected a sock from me. It was guessbthe selkie from their sock 🤣
Mam sent me this a very early picture of my gran and Uncle Ernest

Kim visited to pick up the sock and brought me some daffs!
My beautiful Aunt Joan, I didn't have a picture of her and me but mam found this one. Im so glad

Mark like to tuck up grey donkey when he makes my bed 🤣
It was easter !
I managed downstairs but it was a bit much and triggered fatigue we think we know why so ill try again soon
It was Mark's birthday! He got a card from Jacky
And cupcakes from me! This was my cupcake and very nice it was too

I got to see the blossom! This was on the way to my post op check up for my eyes

Mark unearthed this photo from his birthday in 2006, a month after we moved in here!

Mispent youth

I've been gathering pictures which sum up a lot of my misspent youth 😊 pubs etc in the Broch, below is the Alexndra Hotel where I worked in the summer as a student, I used to work in a small bar upstairs called Jeans bar, iwould serve drinks and takes orders for and serve lunches, at the weekends I would work in the main function bar with my sister serving at weddings, man they were full on. It was hard work but I have fond memories of it, it was knocked down decades ago sadly, lovely building

Balaclava omg loved this bar, there was always a singer, Billie she played a keyboard and sang remember her belting out "River deep mountain high " 🥰
Ahhh no sign but this is "The Oak upstairs" we sometimes went into oak downstairs but preferred upstairs, I remember walking into it, dark gloomy bar at the end but nobody could see you were underage 🤣🤣
The crown bar 😊 tucked away up a side street, great view over the harbour, no ladies toilets in the bar but you got a man o check if I was empty then guard the door for you 🤣🤣 they do great camp coffee with rum
The ship Inn this was our main haunt so many tears she'd in the loos loads of dancing drinking just kids having fun 😊

Uncle John

My uncle John passed away December 14th 2024, he was 93. The photo below was taken when he visited from Canada in the late 90s
I loved my uncle John, he was a father figure I never had.
I was up at my mams last year and he phoned, he didn't say much but he said "I love you Sheila" I said "I love you too" can't ask for better than that

Below is my mam and Uncle John

1st visit to Broch 2024

well, I wasnt expecting to have to scrap the inside of my car windscreen ... its gone all cold here again. Hey ho, first trip up North in 2024. I am currently in the bad books again, not staying with mam has upset her ... I cant win really? Twas always thus.
A quick pit stop for lunch in Aberdeen with a good chum who understands helps smooth the process as does a walk along Aberdeen beach

Broch beach is wild, beautiful but wild

I decided to visit another local graveyard, Lonmay, I was looking for a specific grave but couldnt find it. Found many other intersting ones though
I remember Fraser Corbett well, owned a farm and hotel in the Broch, those were the days.

Betty Ross, what a beautiful lady she was, so loving.

A new mug to go with my coaster!
Ah yes, here she is, slightly scary and scratchy, how very appropriate ....
