July furtle 2026

My first finish of July! Cross stitch by Emma Congdon blogged about here

My obsession with needle minders continues 🤣

Yes i know I already have the book one but it's a favourite and it's in constant use so thisnis my archival one 🤣

My blocks for last months siblings, that's an intention from last month ✅️
Yes ... more needle minders 🤣
Mark brought this down for me, i got this bag in Paducah in 2015, I use it to keep my usable scraps of wadding in, I need these for a current sew along the Hollygon wreath SAL
Siblings blocks for this months another intention ✅️
Another pick a petal block
Awww so happy about this one, it's my block for the transatlantic community quilt, so chuffed to be doing this again and sewing with liberty! And its another intention ✅️
Progress on the Halloween SAL
And last but not least my first block for the Hollygon sew along hosted by Craftapalooza
Totally out of my comfort zone with teeny needleturn applique but quite enjoying it! One down 9 to go!
So that feels like a good month! Lots  done a few intentions from last month ticked off and some are more progressed but not yet ticked off so that's good too!
Intentions for this month
°transatlantic community quilt block (carried over from June) ✅️
°cut and sew on borders for 2nd siblings quilt (Carried over from June)
°2x siblings blocks from June ✅️
°2x siblings blocks for July ✅️
°sew on binding for Alice Caroline SOS quilt

Intentions for next month
°cut and sew on borders for 2nd siblings quilt (Carried over from June and July)
°sew on binding for Alice Caroline SOS quilt (Carried over from July)
°August siblings blocks
°Finish Halloween x stitch

August furtle

Well!!! It's been a great month! Look! Actually sewing! This is the August bee block for siblings together can't believe I actually sewed this 😊

My round and round the woodland sampler is done! How cute is Mr Badger 🥰

Lovely chum Ruth sent me a care package from FOQ ❤️
I git some fabric cut up to start the applique on this but the Pick a petal BOM has taken over!

The two finished Siblings blocks

It took a while and some sweary words but my center block for this is done!
I also got the first of 30 of these done! All hand sewn 😳
After the round the woodland SAL I started this I've had it since 2020 so now it's time has come!

I still can't believe I made this! Yup it's not the best I've made but I'm ridiculously proud of it
One of our selkie chums is having a hard time and the group is putting together a care hamper for her I wanted to put in a pouch and some Doric gifts she is from the North East too. This took me over a week but it's done! So chuffed!
Also my obsession with needle minders continues 🤣

For a bit of accountability and to hopefully keep me on track I want to start posting some fabric stats at the end of each furtle post, I keep a fabric inventory each year, how much fabric in and how much out. Its normally been fairly even but last year it was about 2 meters more in that out but since I stepped doing any quilting in June I think that's understandable I had bought loads thinking I would use it up but couldn't. I hope to rectify this 😊 the main reason I'm doing this is for our move in 3 years. I want to have made significant dents in the stash, let's see what I can do 😊
OK that's pretty good considering I've just started sewing again! The 13 meters out has technically not been used yet but it's been paired up sorted out and is ready to go so I'm counting it here 😊

Needle minders

There came a point when I felt I couldn't buy any more kits. They were backing up so much! So I decided to start collecting needleminders! How cute are these?? Now I'm stitching again I can theme my minder to my project 🤣
