Oh blogger, why do you make it so hard to align pictures!!! hey ho!
I often wonder if it is wise to go back to places which have really strong memories so when a lecturer I used to work with at QMU wanted to meet up for lunch, I was delighted but also felt a bit of trepidation, how would I feel? I worked here for 12 years, loved every minute but then things change, people at the top change and my "style" was no longer in favour 😏I get that but I knew I would be first to go if there were any redundancies so I moved on.
Coming back onto campus was AMAZING, it was the right thing to do, I checked out the library just to see if the fiction section was still there! (lots of crime and mysteries 😉 Library staff loved a mystery ...)
The campus was stunning in the ice and frost, just as I remember itSo I basically sat in Starbucks, met with the folks I had planned too but so many people passed by and remembered me!!! It was lovely! Xanthe from the school office said "I was talking about you yesterday! I said 'Sheila Williams used to do a session on that and made it so accessible and the students loved her!'
That meant so much, really touched my heart
The food was as good, treacle scones!!! and curly fries!
I used to stand here and watch the students, see them with all their anxieties also their hope and passion for the future, I loved working with them, it was great to be back
