Sew portable travel set

This was no 10 on my 2020 Q2 FAL list I was fortunate enough to buy a beautiful centennial Singer Featherweight sewing machine last year. I loved the pattern which was made especially for it by Jenni Baker. In fact I loved it so much i made 2!!! one for my other portable sewing machine.

For the version for my vintage machine I made the cute extension leaf cover as well

For my modern portable machine I used up some precious panda fabrics!

Sloths for the win!

These were the previous bags they were in. In a funny way seeing them in new bags means they have no memories attached to them. Seeing them in the old bags made me sad for what I was missing, the killearn days the Gartmore weekends, so many memories attached to them. No they are ready to make new memories and they will, soon!

Sailing boat quilt

I wrote about this more in my May Furtle post but i like to give all finish along finishes their own posts! This will head off to Project linus soon,  lovely bali pop quilt.
This was no 4 on my 2020Q2 FAL list
I was gifted a sooper luffly Bali pop by a very lovely chum, I wanted to make sure i got every last drop out of it so chose to make 2 quilts from it. This one is from the quiltroom (Pam and Nicky Lintott) 2 for 1 jelly rolls book, what a great way to use up left over jelly roll strips and charm squares! I will be making this one again thats for sure! It will head on its way to one of the charities i regularly support, either Project Linus or a siblings quilt, I need to work out how to get quilts to either of them in the current circumstances!

Jelly Weave

Whoof the finishes are coming along thick and fast! this is the second one which came from a lovely bali pop present. Its called Jelly weave from CLuck Cluck sew. This one is special, I started this at the last Glasgow Modern Quilt guild sewing day. One day soon hopefully i will be able to sew with chums again in person.
This was no 3 on my 2020Q2 list
Ahhhhh i did mess up with the quilting .... had to rip out 6 rows of too wonky quilting ....

But it was worth it! i do love this and i think i might make another.

56 eh!

Well that was the weirdest birthday ever! so 56 lets be having you! Work is so full on just now i didnt really see the birthday coming. But due to my lovely husband and my lovely chums i did have a lovely day!

He knew that i was now going to miss a trip to Florence with my best chum Jacky but we are planning a virtual trip instead, so what did the lovely man do? he got me a special bottle of Florentine gin!

I also just have the loveliest chums, the lovely Ruth made me a wonderful pouch with wonderful fabric! look at this!!! OK yes i had some watery eyes when i opened it!
Panda card too :-)

I cant believe i am posting this early June and my birthday was 25th May!!! but then time seems to have taken on a new dimension at the moment!

May furtle

Hullo there! how are you???? well most of you, not you Dominic Cummings and not Boris either, and as for you Matt Hancock, go do one. Dominic Rabb?? yup you too. Honestly I dont want to make this political but seriously .... my blood pressure has been through the roof.
So lets settle down and see what crafty stuff has been going on.
There has been sewing!!! lots of it! I was lucky enough to have a sooper luffly chum (you know who you are 😊) who gave me a sooper luffly bali pop. well what to do ??? what to do??? we make two quilts thats what we do! first up is a sailing boat one from  a pattern by Pam and Nicky Lintott. I got to use up loads of 2.5 inch charm squares in this one as well, win win!

And here just for you is my wonderful and he is wonderful Scoobs doing what he does best - holding quilts!!!

The second quilt i made from it was from a pattern called Jelly Weave by Cluck cluck sew. I loved making this one too, so much fun.

The sailing boat one will go to Project Linus and the Jelly Weave to Siblings together.

I went to a virtual retreat! The thread house one, fabulous fun and i got to stitch along with my best chum Irene as well - bonus! I concentrated on doing the Painted Village blocks by Karen Lewis, i am making them in liberty for the Alice Caroline SOS.

I have been making such good progress with the Michael Miller cross stitch, really chuffed with how well i have been getting on with it. I will be finished it soon!

I won a prize!!! fabric !! The lovely Jane tagged me in a post from Morris textiles and even though they are in the US they still posted it to me! and it arrived quicker than some post from the UK! what a fabulous bundle, my head is buzzing with ideas for it.

A few more coffee and quilts posts as well!

My specs broke! good old wonderclips held them together!
Then the wonderful Asda opticians gave me a duplicate set, they had to use my sunglasses frames but i love them.
Lockdown is hard but there are some good things and those we need to hold on to. I get to have lunch in the sun with my Scoobs, thats pretty special.
Few more random coffee and quilts!

One of my colleagues had a 40th birthday, so we had a virtual birthday party for him and the Angry Birds hat came out of mothballs!!!
Last but most definately not least is my Quaffle!! I so admire the work of the charity Link Living and their fundraiser Sheena is a good chum. I wanted to do something to help them so the idea of the Quaffle - Quilt raffle was born!
You remember the Famers wife??

Well i wanted it to go to a good home, so we raffled it! Due to the tremendous generosity of a whole load of people we raised £1,183!!!! how totes amazeballs is that?

And thats about it. Yoo all take care!

Pop open pouch

I love Angela Hoey patterns, so well written and always turn out fab. I found myself wanting to use special fabrics, fabrics with memories. My lovely shut Sheena brought back this amazing batik from her visit to New Zealand. This was no 7 on my Q 2 FAL list. I made this in the first month of lock down, my head was all over the place work  was bonkers but concentrating on this helped.
