My Scoobs

8 years eh! we have been togetherr for 16 years but married for 8.
So how much do i love this man? rather a lot actually.

We have been coming to the Pine Trees for many years now. In the early days Bud would come too.

Mark proposed here, we honeymooned here and this was the first place we came away too after i finished chemotherapy.

Our wedding was amazing truly the best day of my life.

I didnt then know that we would spend our first wedding anniversary waiting for results of a PET scan which would tell us if i would survive to the second wedding anniversary.

So while every day is a bonus every anniversary is sooper special.

This year we booked into the coach house of the Pine Trees, i think we will be coming back again, how ace is this.

We did a little bit more than drink and eat! it was a beautiful weekend so we went for loads of walks, these are from the Birks of Aberfeldy.

Killearn

 Gorgeous view isn't it :-) For a long time when I moved down to Glasgow/Edinburgh (I now live in between - Bonnybridge) I missed my chums, I missed going out for coffee, regular meet ups. Crafty sessions. Its taken a while especially since I have moved around a bit but now  I have a network and its a great feeling.

Part of this network and a huge part is the #stirlingshirestitchers. It all started with some chance conversations on Instagram. the lovely Kim asked if some of us would was to meet up for a regular stitching day in Killearn. Well hell yes!!! and so it began just over a year ago.

This is the view from the room where we sew. Its in the village hall, the room is on the lower ground floor, above is the three sisters café where we go for lunch.

 

Its a spacious room, plenty of room for us all, ironing board and cutting table. 

This wine cooler is on the way to the toilets, ive not cracked the code yet :-) 

You pass through this room to get to the loos, one day I will play this.

 Killearn is a beautiful village.

 

 

We have fun, stand on chairs to get good photos.

I have pinched some instagram photos to remind myself of some of the shenanigans we got up to.

In the summertime we can hold the quilts off the balcony, makes for great pictures :-)

Its a fabulous part of my life, love these ladies and love these days.

Lest we forget

Fraserburgh. My home town, bit of a love hate relationship but hey its where i grew up, its where my memories are.

The library, its where I mostly camped out as a child. I loved those ladies in the library. They gave me extra library cards because I took out so many books. It shaped my career and took me on the path Im on just now.

Its still the same, I like to come in past when i am up visiting my mam. It still smells the same,  polished wood and linoleum. The last time i visited it had a display for Remembrance day, all hand knitted or crocheted poppies.

It was fate, when i went in they had this display on:

Phew! now lets remember i am up at my mams .... so *water* is essential :-)

This time i broke my journey in Aberdeen, stayed in a travel lodge, had breakfast in the this legend of a place. The snecky, still does best bacon roll around.

This was on a previous FAL list it fell off i think! i love Michael Powell designs, very cute and they make ma smile which is always a good thing. you can ask for much more than that! i only use book marks in my patchwork books now a days i use a kindle for my fiction reading. I love making these though, this is my fourth i think.

Henry the Horsie!

No 5 on my FAL 2018 Q3 list! Henry the Horse. Another fab pattern by Tartan Kiwi. Using my horded stash of Ardently Austen fabric. Im too late for the link up but i like to be completist :-) This was mostly done at one of this years Gartmore retreat.
