Grandma Bruces thimble

This is me with my gran and grandad. I loved my gran so much, she was a great sewer. Taught me a lot about crafting. On my recent visit to mams she gave me this silver thimble. I remember playing with at grans. It belonged to her mother, known as Grandma Bruce. By all accounts she was a horror, very difficult woman. But my gran kept this and loved it, so I love it too. The box its in has a picture of Castle Street in Aberdeen on the front

Its heavily tarnished so ill try the bicarb treatment 

After 1 soak in bicarb and aluminium 

After 2nd bicarb treatment 

I'll probably leave it there for now, its come up quite well
