Im now on my second year of storygraph so I thought I would use the custom stats function to compare stats, not for the year but for each quarter so let's kick off with Q1. So in 2026 I read 13 more books which was 3,751 more pages, also the average rating was slightly higher but my KU subscription finished 2 months earlier in 2026 I started it earlier in winter 2025 so that perhaps explains the difference in rating. I tend to take more risks with KU titles. Very similar hours listened slightly less in 2026 but not much. The distribution of pages read each day seems slightly more even in 2026 which would correlate to more even energy levels
Page number and fiction/non fiction spread are pretty similar, audiobook length is slightly different but I did have my mammoth Sherlock Holmes audiobook! I think that skewed 2026! Mystery remains favourite genre (as classified by Storygraph) more historical thriller and Sci fi though which figures, ive been reading far more sci fi recently

So my own custom tags! Book source confirms the difference in owned vs KU titles, in 2025 my sub to KU ran out in March not January as it did in 2025. Its nice to see Libby and Prime get a look in in 2026 but I really don't like reading libby books if i can only do them on my phone. Was nice to knock off some prime titles which had been hanging around.
OK some major differences here! I read far fewer stand alone in 2026, possibly because i found quite a few series in loved. No Agatha Christie though, I've done my Miss Marple binge but will hopefully return to Poirot in some form next year. Also far fewer dont follow probably again because id finished KU earlier in the year. I added a new tag - unsure, mainly because there were books i was genuinely unsure about, it is sometimes hard to say "dont follow up" for certain
Wow! A lot of new locations! So many I had to change chart to horizontal instead of vertical
So what are the key take aways? KU gives me far more flexibility to take a punt on titles but this means more DNF which is not a bad thing
Im discovering new genres "post apocalyptic" for one which i really love.
But mostly I just love storygraph because it gives me all this lovely data 😊
