New travel pouch

Ta dah!!! I love this I truly do. Ages ago probably early pandemic my lovely chum Jo gave me some Charley Harper fabric. I anted to keep it for just the right project.

Fast forward to my upcoming trip to Nantes, I wanted a flatter case to transport my embroidery, the Aneela Hoey 2 for 1 case was the perfect size. I adore this pouch so much.

Working on it over the weekend has allowed me to process a lot of the feelings which have arisen. I knew that for my first trip abroad since the pandemic and shielding I would feel nervous but I wasnt prepared for everything else. A great deal of anger and almost grief came flooding over me in the past week.  I think it's part of the healing process and part of recovery from the effects of the last few years. It was unexpected, especially the anger, but I sit with it I acknowledge it and attempt to process it, all in the knowledge that I am very very lucky to be able to start traveling again, so many still can't. I won't minimise or dismiss my feelings though they are very valid and visceral. I knew that shielding would have some effect on me, I wasn't quite prepared for this. As ever though sewing provides a soothing balm. So now, Nantes let's be having you!
