May furtle

Well May has been quite a busy month! I git back to my regular weekday sewing group so got cracking with Blossom Jane again now on 6th row out of 13 almost half way through center square I hope to get a cracking on with this when we are away in June.
Suzanne Campion and Lisa from Morris textiles are doing another transatlantic quilt so here is my liberty block for them.
We had a house guest ❤️❤️ sweet Rocky came to stay for a week
I am slowly playing catch up with my stitch doodles embroidery I was very hesitant to start this but am now well in the swing of it, almost ready to start may now so only a month behind i need to slso carch up with my Carina wheel of the year, remind me next year to only do one wheel!
Below is a quilt commissioned by a very dear chum. I never agree to make quilts for anyone else but this chum is an exception, they have a new grandchild called Leo, she wanted it in shades of blue.
She also asked if there was fabric with a lion on it .... Well I couldn't find any lion fabric that wasn't too cartoony or babyish, she wants this o be a for ever quilt.
Only one option for it! Yup another big cat but without the flowers in his mane 😊
Panda markers are essential for good organisation!
I won't lie it's been a bit of a white knuckle ride, I refuce the Suze by 50% as it was 40 inches originally the original pattern was also in US letter format so that added to risk of not printing properly but it seems to be coming together OK with a bit of fudging here and there 😉
This is probably where I will get to in May over half way! Hope to finish by 2nd June, let's see 😊

  1. Your Blossom Jane blocks are looking wonderful and I love the narrow black sashing almost as much as I love Rocky and the lion which will be on the back of Leo’s quilt. Now, when do we need to remind you to just do one embroidery wheel? January 2024 or a bit earlier? Thanks for Furtling!

    1. Thank you! I do love the narrow black sashing too, it was the best choice, probably start reminding about wheel of the year in early November? Hopefully I will listen!
