September furtle

Dunno about yoo but its all getting a bit nippy up here! I have dug out my sooper luffly scarf from luffly Helen I will need it with my jumper to keep me warm!

So what have we been up too!!! Well this year it is Budsmam and scoobs 10th wedding anniversary, I allowed Budsmam to yoose up some of my tip top favourite Capel fabric to make a speshul anniversary mini quilt. All will be revealed on the date!

A luffly chum of Budsmam is going to sell off handmade things to raise money for hur Yooniversity student hardship fund. So budsmam  made some pouches, and used a luffly pattern from the eternal maker to use up her lacy zips.

She also used the open wide pouch from Noodle head

We have been werking on sooper secret sewing which will be revealed sooooooooon.

September has been a bit of a hard month, its all a bit rubbish just now. We are all a bit sad and there is a lot going on, so we are sending virtual hugs to all our chums owt there, soft knitted hugs to yoo all.

Liberty scrap pack quilt

Well we were stonking through the finishes this month!!!  this was no 7 on my Q3 finish along list my third and final quilt for the Alice Caroline quiltsos drive for 2020, these are going to the Hestia organisation this year. I always like to make three quilts, two are more complex and one nice and simple one.
For this one I used up two scraps packs of liberty i had , one I bought this year and one I got from the lovely Natalie when she came up for the stitch gathering the year i hurt my shoulder (the liquid morphine year!!

I just love liberty, never fails to surprise me

Awww you knew this was coming!!!! my Scoobs, patient and smiling as ever 😀

Liberty lone star

And its done!!! this was finish no 6 on my Q3 list for the finish along. I love the radiating sparkles quilt pattern by Mack and Mabel, I knew i wanted to make a  liberty version for the Alice Caroline quilt sos project which is going to the Hestia Organisation this year.
It was a great idea but i had it in my head that liberty was a firmer fabric and didnt have much bias in it WRONG!!!!! i was so so wrong, it has as much bias as any other fabric!!! plus i started off by cutting the first strips incorrectly, for goodness sake! but in the end i absolutely adore it. I used some of my Standfast and Barracks uber cheap liberty as the background and i really adore the finished effect. As my lovely chum Jacky said about it all the way through - firey and sparkly!

And here it is expertly held by the maestro himself, my scoobs 😀

Broken paperclip

You all know I love Lucy :-), Lucy Engels that is! fabric and pattern designer extraordinaire!! I have had her Broken Paperclip pattern on my list for a while now and its been waiting for me to find the right fabric., inspiration hit and i decided to use my (rather extensive ...) Japanese fabric collection for it! (hardly put a dent in it!!!)
Below would have been a partial finish shot but but but ..... when putting it together i left out quite a vital bit .... I missed out end and top strips .... ah well lesson learned!!!

they did look nice though!

One of my favourites! this is Jackys block, my dearest chum loved these fabrics and they remind me of her!
Et voila!!!! the rather wonderful Scoobs, shows off the final product and Im very chuffed with it! I am not sure where its going to go to, maybe linus, I have given a fair few to siblings this year so this one might head off to Linus. Now to find another project to use up my Japanese fabrics!!
