Tula pink butterfly

Tick tick tickety tick on the 2016 FAL finish list for Q2
I went to the Cullen quilt retreat last year armed with the Tula Pink Butterfly quilt pattern and a stack of 30s repro fabrics
And I sewed
Bit more sewing
Pant pant, more sewing
TEENY TINY BLOOMING SEWING
Bigger sewing
Finlay!!! Tummy rubs.
Oh guess who underestimated the amount of white quilt needed ....
Fast forward to this year and my poor long suffering husband is bribed with ice cream to pose over the balcony!
I paid to get it long armed, no way was this going in my domestic machine!

Flipping flowers flipped

Ticking once again from my Q2 list!
It all started with a class up North in Oldmeldrum. I *may* have been a wee bit fragile as I was staying with my best chum Irene who is ever such a bad influence on me ...
The class Carol Munro is well used to me n Irene :-)
I wanted to use Japanese fabrics.
It's sort of a mirror image pattern, one side is a constant, in my case the red, the other side is varied, you then cut out petals an reverse them. Clever huh?
My centers were white with a black stem and leaf. Carol suggested outlining the flowers in black. Good choice as I think the flowers would have been a bit more lost.
The blocks are twisted so it has a flow to it.

Et voila! Another finish for the 2016 FAL!!!

Beach

I think there can be no doubt as to how much I love my home area of the north east of Scotland. I miss it so much. Every time I go home I make sure to go for a we jog down Fraserbugh (Broch) beach.
I seem to have got into the habit of taking and tweeting a selfie every time I got down there. I found all these selfies lingering about on my phone!
I look so happy (well mostly!) must remember this.
