Remaking bunny pixie basket

This is not a very good picture but I forgot to take a before picture 🤦‍♀️ I made this pixie basket with some of my favourite bunny fabric years ago
But i was never happy with it. I rushed it, used a yellow thread in the bobbin which showed through in places and it was just not good. I rushed sewing the inner lining closure too it was awful!
For some unknown reason I also used fleece to line it 🤦‍♀️ this made it all floppy, plus i felt the ribbon handles were too long. If it hadn't been in my favourite fabric I would have binned it. Ive always meant to redo it and now its time has come!
Lets get rid of this awful lining plus get out all the yellow thread

I was unhappy with the way I closed up the inner turning hole. I honestly dont know what I was thinking!
Right all unpicked and ready to wash

Washed and interfaced and already looking better!
Done! The inner turning closing looks so much better and the corners are pinched and sewn for a better shape
Handles are shortened

It holds all the cut off bits of fabric i use as leaders and enders
Soooooo much better crisp and fresh and i love it!

Pouch for Ruth

Well this is an emotional pouch!!! One of the selkies is going through a hard time, Kim is putting together a care hamper for her, Ruth is from the North East too so I wanted to put in some doric things but I also wanted to make her a pouch. I haven't sewn a pouch for 14 months 😳
I can't get up to the sewing room at the moment so I got Mark to pick put some fabric for me, bless him he chose the hedgehogs 🥰🥰
I picked the open wide pouch pattern because I know it so well, the zip didn't work put brilliant so I fudged it!
Boxing the bottoms was trickier than I thought it would be but I worked it out.
This is not the best pouch I've ever made but it's the most emotional one and it was made with so much love🥰
Filled of course with doric goodies 😉

Plocky

Meet Plocky! Made on holiday in Skye, I bought the kit at FOQ in 2023, I wasn't expecting to get him done in Skye but am glad I took him. Not my best work the eyes were a beggar to do but he's done and he's cute.

Skye 2024 lots of dooking

So this is me having  a pineapple daiquiri in our cute wee cottage in Skye,  I'm quite addicted to these from Marks and Spencer! Not every holiday is amazing and wonderful but when I look back on this in years to come I know I'll remember only the good bits, so lets round them up!
Stunning scenery,  cottage was nice. Not amazing but nice, no WiFi though!!! I went through all my data 🤣

I was here chauffeuring Mark and his walking chum, in between I managed quite a few dips, first one was Loch Shenta the healing pool. Very difficult to find but we'll worth it when I did. It's supposed to be very cold as it's fed by a natural spring, it was a baking hot day so it felt quite OK temperature wise to me.

Crystal clear

Next up was Coral beach Plockton, I had tried for a dip outside Broadford but there was a bull in a field so I gave it a miss! I was very close so just carried on to Plockton.
I only got this picture of the beach I think my camera was over heating so I couldn't get any more, lovely beach , a bit of a tricky track down but do able, the water was lovely. Below is me heading back on the track up.

Loch Shenta below

Plockton
I went home to some very tame lambs outside our door!
Up early the next morning I had tried to get to Coral Beach Dunvegan the night before but the car park was rammed so up early the next day it was!

Car park was nice and empty,  track down to beach was nice

After about 15 minutes I came to the Coral beach how beautiful!
Because of circumstances I only got a very quick dip but boy was it worth it!

As I said circumstances had changed, I was going to sew some Dear Jane blocks but couldn't use sewing machine thankfully I had taken some hand sewing in the form of this felt penguin. He is not my best work but he is cute,  he is named Plocky he is guarding some gin I bought from the misty bottle the gin shop just outside Broadford
Next morning I wanted a proper dip down Dunvegan beach so went back again

Completely on my own this time, beautiful so gorgeous
Even risked my camera in the water!

Bye bye Skye, I did enjoy my dips here
