My quilting life BOM

OK next year I will be more careful about which BOMs I sign up for πŸ˜‚ Well famous last words!!
I dont regret signing up for this BOM by My quilting life. Nice blocks to make, allowed me to use up this fab ring ring text fabric which I have had for years, the background text fabric was on sale in sew hot, I love it a lot!

thing about mystery SALs is that you choose what you make (12 and/or 6 inch blocks) then you see the final layout and think "damn wish I had chosen to make both sizes instead of just the 12 inch blocks" then you think "OK I can make the 6 inch blocks" then your inner Sheldon kicks in and you want to do it so this is finished before the end of the year πŸ˜‚then you do a poll on Instagram and 86% of your chums think "hell yes you can do that" and only 16% think "you're bonkers" πŸ˜‚
Its all fun and I love havcing these non work challenges to keep me sharp, so lets see if it can be done!

The 12 inch blocks were pretty straightforward at times I wondered about my fabric choices but I have been doing this long enough to know to wait till the end to see. It all shakes down as you go along!

This is what I had left after 8 x 12 inch blocks

Below is all 12 of the 12 inch blocks
Sashing and cornerstones! I forgot there were sashings and cornerstones!!!!
OK onto the 6 inch blocks!!!
Cute!
trying not to be too matchy matchy!

Below is what I had left after cutting all the background fabric for the sashings and joining blocks 😯
It really started to pull together when I joined the 12 inch blocks with the sashings and corner stones

Ah yes there was a brief hiatus when I forgot how to wind my bobbin πŸ˜‚
The center
I didnt have quite enough of any focal fabric for the inner border but I had enough of the background fabric to use at the corners to make do, I quite like the effect.
next up the outer border with the 6 inch blocks, its really looking good!
And here it is in all its glory 😊
