London day one! Chanel November 2023

Can you see it? Can you see London Tower??
this is better! And blimey this was a sight I often thought I might not see again ... During the darkest times of the pandemic I was often really heartbroken thinking I might never do this again, one of my favourite things, a jaunt to London ... Then I did Nantes this year, that was a biggie, then I did Festival of Quilts again but this year it was more like before. The next big thing was London. One of the main stumbling blocks for me was the underground, now I love the underground but how would I feel bipping about on it after the pandemic???
Turns out the underground is probably better than a bus! They figure it gets about 20 full air refreshes every hour, the standard is 6 ... so that made me feel heaps heaps better.
I flew into London city which meant that I only had to get the DLR for half an hour or so to the hotel with one change in between. That was just grand! The hotel was lovely, really nice Novotel, felt very good in there!
There wasnt much time because the first exhibition booked was at 4.30, so I bipped along on the undeground to see a very very old friend 💗I have loved the V&A since my mum took me there as a child, teh fashion galleries have always been a firm firm favourite so when I saw this was coming there was no option, I had to go 😊

I cant speak to all these pictures, the exhibition was so incredible, even if this hadnt been the first exhibtion I had been to since the pandemic and shielding it would still have been mind blowing. Over 200 items (I would say nearer 300) all lovingly curated, the panels were obviously written by someone who really appreciated if not adored Chanel.

The one below I adored, I would wear this
Look at that applique!

Below is another I adored, just love these colours this styling

These capes were outrageous! Loved them!

The one below was impossible to photograph but was stunning!

I look right at home!

Could I be happier? Probably not 😊 I pootled back to the hotel for some much needed food and a glass of medicinal wine 😊
