October furtle

Well I couldnt forget to furtle could i!!! especially as its for the sooper luffly Mini Archie. So what have i been doing this month apart from having a wee melt down!! just kidding, I am feeling better and things are on the mend, slow but sure. So have i been doing anything fun??? well yes i have! hows about this for a stonking start on the My small world?? 90% left overs of Lucy Engles fabric from my OMCOC quilt, pretty and bright huh?

This is an embroidery for the Jo Avery Vintage home BOM  from todays quilter, I quite enjoyed getting back to embroidery again, although my ddugy eyesight (cataract developing in left eye it appears) means its a bit "improv" (skew whiff ...)

 I went to a lovely talk with the lovely Nicholas Ball, and i had gin and chips with the lovely Sheena and Ruth.

A nice day out

My chum Andy does not do social media at all .... which is fine its his choice! but it can be a scunner! we try to go to the exhibitions in the Queens Gallery. This one is about the Romanovs, I couldnt miss this, loads of bling but it was also quite moving thinking of how it all ended for the family.

Coronation of Catherine the Great, i was never a fan of Russian crowns, they always look naff,  sorry Catherine! Can you imagine wearing all of this? must have weighed a ton

Nicholas Ball talk

I do love the look of improv and i wish i had the brain which can do it but i dont. Every single piece of improv i have done looks so linear and awkward, yup, awkward and self conscious improv!
Nicholas Ball came and gave a talk to the Edinburgh Modern Quilt guild, our events team are really doing a marvellous job.
It was a great night, gin and food beforehand with Sheena and Ruth followed by a lovely talk by Nicholas, he spoke so well and passionately about his quilts and the design process.
