Chipping away at it

Right, I dont want to not do any of the quilt alongs I have signed up for so I am just going to chip away at it, not think about all of them but just concentrate on the one in hand. So just now it is the quilt along from Sew Happy Geek I did the first four blocks with some Japanese fabric scraps, love the way they look.

Overcommitting

You would think that at my age I would know better, but oh no, new year not even got the first month over with and I have signed up for a gazillion quilt alongs. I think it may only be about 8 but that is enough I think. They are so tempting though, they will help me use up my fabric, my scraps and teach me to be a better all round person. Well thats the hope anyway.
I am still doing some QALs from last year, really loving the fat quarter stars from the Moose on the Porch.
I think this is one of my favourites from it so far.

Big quilt

This is a big quilt, I must be a bit more careful and actually look at the measurement of quilts in future, i could have made 2 smaller quilts from this pattern if i had been careful. I dont mind bigger quilts but they are a bugger to quilt on my small domestic machine, I was not too happy with the outcome of this quilt, the backing is rucked up in a few places.
But it is a pretty quilt, bright and fun and it used up a heap of fat quarters as well which is good, some of them had started to become discoloured! It will go to a good home, Project Linus, and i learned a little bit more about accurate piecing so its a win win situation!

Calico quilt

This quilt was a block of the month quilt from Totally patched quilt shop in Bewdeley I dont think they do this BOM any more. I did it along with 2 chums, I loved doing it because there were so many different techniques in there, some i will do again, others - crazy pathchwork, i will give a wide berth. So a great quilt for trying new stuff. Also we were able to make it up in the quilt as you go method, my favourite for big quilts from now on I think.
Another bonus? well my husband likes it - calm colour palette, no big vibrant colours ....
