A weekend at the cinema

 

Ive learned a lot this weekend, one of the main things is that I cannot abandon projects but hey I knew that anyway, I'm pretty stubborn! this farmers wife 30s quilt is slowly very very slowly nearing completion and this block below almost broke me, not just y seams but multiple y seams in one seam if you know what I mean ... my photography is shocking but hey, you get the gist!

I also learned that I need to stop living in my mind so much, making up stories of how life is going to pan out, I don't have a crystal ball and the future is not written yet. I can make up as many stories as I want about my health, about my job but none of it is written. I should know that the world can turn on a sixpence. start living more mindfully, in the moment.

I went to see three films this weekend! great fun. I have started a new "thing" I get popcorn and frozen yoghurt from Marks and Spencer to take in with me, half the price of cinema snacks and a lot healthier.

Mind you I totally blew that today by going to a local baker for 90 pence worth of chips and a cup of tea :-) I had great fun walking along the canal back to my car eating chips and drinking tea.

I remember one of the lines from the Avengers Infinity war which I saw on Friday - "there are 41,567 possible endings" I need to remember that and stop trying to predict them.

I also learned that lovely messages come out of the blue when you least expect them but need them most. Thank you :-)

Zen Chic triangles quilt

well this was a fun but challenging quilt to make! a free quilt along with Zen Chic and the Bernina blog, the triangles werent too bad once i got the hang of them and putting it together was ok but it was HUGE!
 

Morning walk

och I have just been having a nightmare with the blog recently! No blogging app for ipad works any more, they would allow me to create a post but would delete the whole thing and only publish the title .... gee thanks.

So with my dodgy eyesight I don't want to do too much on the phone so I am doing a hybrid, uploading pictures from phone then doing the text on laptop ....

So why is there a picture of my willies in mid air? that's me down at the swing park :-) I used to take Bud down here for his morning walk and have decided im still going to do it just myself. Chill out relax and get my head in gear before I head off to work.

I do love a good swing on the swings :-)

 

A weekend with Krista Hennebury

Mahoosive liberty quilt

Here that noise?? Its me squeaking in with one last finish on my Q1 list 😂😂 this wss number 3 on the list.

Its done !! My husband (ower Scoobs) doing a grand job of showing off the finished mahoosive Liberty quilt top. His poor arms wont stretch to the full 98 , yes 98 inches in width .... i really must get better at realising how big quilt tops are going to be! I got it back this week from the fabulous Cath, @cumbrianlongarmer. And what a stunning job she did.

Ahhhhhh almost the point of no return!! I wasnt paying attention to the piecing and it was getting dangerously squint. I had to take middle out and re piece ....

Pretty little Italy

Wa hey! Another finish ticked off the finish along list! This was no. 2 on the list for Q1 im so chuffed with it, i love satsuma street designs. I bought a lot of the Pretty Little City patterns in a sale, hoping to slowly work my way through them. Here is Pretty Little Italy.

Michael Powell

I love a cross stitch. And i really love Michael Powell cross stitch. I saw him a lot at the festival of quilts. I started buyin the little cushions with positive sayings when i was really sick, they helped me through a lot. They now sit on my window in the sewing room and i see them every day. There arent any more so i started doing some bookmarks. This is the latest one, spanish hill town. Love these, love snything which makes me smile 😊
